The Cottage Grove Community Foundation (CGCF) is pleased to announce the following non-profit organizations were selected as grant recipients for a total of $17,110.96. Funding for these grants is made possible through donations from the Cottage Grove Community Foundation Fund, the Carlton Woodard Fund, the Green Earth Fund, the Believe in Angels Fund, the Frank and Pamela Simpson Family Fund, the Veatch Fund, and the Women and Children Assistance Fund.

Educational Grants:

  • Opal Center for Arts & Education, Updating Technology to Help With Marketing, $625. Donor: Green Earth Fund.
  • Ophelia’s Place, Cottage Grove School Partnership to Empower Youth, $1,000. Donor: Green Earth Fund.
  • Lincoln Middle School, Lincoln Middle School Foods Class, $1,000. Donor: Green Earth Fund.
  • Lincoln Middle School Physical Education, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), $985.96. Donor: Cottage Grove Community Foundation Fund.

Social Services Grants

  • CASA of Lane County, Rural Outreach Plan of a Voice for Every Child, $3,400. Donors: Cottage Green Earth Fund, Women and Children Assistance Fund, and Veatch Fund.
  • Community Sharing Program, Latino Food Box, $1,000. Donors: Cottage Grove Community Foundation Fund and Frank and Pamela Simpson Family Fund.
  • Womenspace, Direct Client Aid for Intimate Partner Violence, $2,300. Donors: Women and Children Assistance Fund and Believe in Angels Fund.
  • Beds for Freezing Nights (BFN), Warming Center Food & Clothing Giveaways Project, $2,050. Donors: Carlton Woodard Fund, Cottage Grove Green Earth Fund, Veatch Fund and Believe in Angels.

  • Bohemia Mining Days Festival, Safety Lights $750. Donor: Carlton Woodard Fund.
  • The Cottage Grove Community Foundation will celebrate with these outstanding non-profit organizations at a Community Grant Awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 13 from noon to 1:00 pm in the Shepherd Room at the Community Center. The public is invited to attend.

The fifteen 2017 Grants were given to the following organizations:

Educational Grants:

  • Ophelia’s Place – Cottage Grove Schools Partnership, $1,000. Donor: Frank and Pam Simpson Family Advised Endowment Fund.
  • Friends of the Library – AWE Early Literacy Center Computer Station and Programs for Children’s Section of Cottage Grove Library, $1,000. Donor: Believe in Angels Foundation.
  • Latham Elementary School – The Whole World in My Hands, $350. Donor: Green Earth Advised Expendable Fund.
  • Dept. P-20 Community Outreach, South Lane School District, & the City of Cottage Grove – South Lane Dental Outreach, $1,000. Donors: Cottage Grove Community Foundation ($607), Veatch Endowment Subfund ($100) and Believe in Angels Foundation ($293).
  • Parent Partnership – McKinney Vento School Supply Give Away, $1,500. Donors: Green Earth Advised Fund ($1,000) and Cottage Grove Community Foundation ($500).
