Thank you notes we received from 2025 community grant recipients:
On behalf of the Row River Rural Fire Protection District, I am writing to express our deep gratitude to the Cottage Grove Community Foundation for the generous grant of funds enabling our fire district to improve safety and response capacity both in our newly formed district, and beyond to the South Lane County Fire and Rescue District area, as mutual aid partners.
Your gift clearly demonstrates the goals and mission of the Foundation to create and enhance resiliency through support of local community projects and needs. We also think that your efforts and presence in the community opens awareness and communication among a wide variety of organizations enabling connections and networking for the common good of recognized needs.
Your work, the leadership, commitment of your Directors, and commitment to doing good for local communities is commendable! We look forward to learning more about the many projects you support.
District volunteers will be working with local businesses to purchase the rescue equipment tools made possible by your generosity.
Walt Bernard, MD – Fire Chief
Thank you so much for once again entrusting us with the Women and Children Endowment Funds. Thy have had a significant impact on individuals and organizations in our community.
One woman with three children said she wouldn’t have been able to escape the abusive relationship which endangered her children and herself without the support the endowment gave her. Shea and her family are now safe.
The endowment has helped women move into housing – a huge challenge in our community. This week will be working with a 77-year-old disabled woman. The elderly as well as the young are vulnerable.
Thank you for the opportunity to support women and children in our community. Your endowment is a blessing and has touched so many lives.
With great appreciation,
Bruce Kelsh

Dear Friends at the Cottage Grove Community Foundation,
On behalf of everyone at Spirit of Bohemia Mining Days, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous grant of $1,000 to support our community programing.
Your investment in our mission goes far beyond the dollars – it’s a statement of trust in the work we’re doing to celebrate Cottage Grove’s heritage and inspire the next generation through leadership and educational outreach. With your support, we’re able to bring history to life, create lasting memories for local families, and empower youth to become active participants in their community’s story.
We’re proud to have the Cottage Grove Community Foundation standing with us as a partner in preserving and celebrating the spirit of Bohemia. Thank you for believing in what we’re building – your contribution helps make that all possible.
Warm regards,
Matthew Hewlett
